BFTW Environment: eWater Systems

eWater Systems provide an alternative to synthetic chemical cleaners and sanitisers using sustainable, on-demand water electrolysis technology. General Manager, John Archer spoke to us about how eWater Systems has been able to target environment impacts head on!

1. What makes your company Best For The World?

At eWater Systems we are working to help business reduce their chemical footprint by providing an safer and natural alternative to conventional cleaning and sanitising chemicals. Today our products are used in over 500 sites around Australia and have collectively replaced over 80 million litres of chemicals and millions of single use plastic containers.

2. What makes you stand out from other companies?

The use of synthetic and harsh chemicals across our society today is largely unchecked and driven by a multi billion dollar industry centered around a packaged consumable solution.

At eWater Systems we aim to turn this model on its head using water electrolysis technology. Instead of producing solution in a faraway factory, we enable a business to produce it on site and on demand. Instead of single use plastic packaging, our customers can reuse packaging over and over again. Instead of synthetic and harsh chemicals, our solution uses natural ingredients and is safe for both people and the environment.

We believe in the power of business for social and environmental good, not only in relation to our products but in how we conduct ourselves. To that end B Corp supports our mission and our beliefs.

3. How do you plan to celebrate?

Beer sounds great!

4. Part of being “Best for the World” is striving to always use your business as a force for good. What initiatives do you have planned for the coming year to continue to be Best for the World?

We have spent a lot of energy over the past few years establishing our business and educating people about the power of eWater. Over the next year we will be working to establishing new partnerships that help our community make better use of the product around Australia. We will also be taking the time to look internally at ways we can do things better and more in keeping with our values and ideals.

5. What advice do you have for other B Corps and purpose-led businesses that want to improve their impact?

Take the time to consider what areas of your business you can make small incremental impacts that have a tangible result. Many small adjustments can quickly add up to a big change over time! Chatting with other B Corps is a great way to start this process – they are an inspirational bunch.
