Beckon Capital is now a Certified B Corporation

Beckon Capital is 'Impact Growth Equity', providing resources and capital to enterprises that are

contributing to individual wellbeing, building resilient communities, and promoting a healthier

planet.

Tell us a bit more about what Beckon Capital does.

We believe that businesses that understand and measure their impact are more likely to

succeed and deliver sustainable financial returns while making a positive difference to the

world.

We form minority equity partnerships with growth SMEs, and premium property projects,

providing new impact investment opportunities to investors and improving social and

environmental outcomes.

 We drive value through impact.

Why did you want to become a Certified B Corporation?

Becoming a Certified B Corporation was important to us to reinforce that we are practicing

what we preach about the importance and value of impact. It helps aligned investors and

stakeholders engage with our brand and mission.

The process of becoming a B Corp made us a better business, ensuring we operate with the

highest standards. We now have a recognised benchmark to encourage the impact

enterprises we invest in to adapt.

Being part of the B Corporation ecosystem enables us to connect with and learn from like-

minded organisations.

What makes Beckon Capital unique as a business? Tell us some of the areas where you have the biggest impact, or some of the little changes you've made to make a difference.

We are creating a new asset class, Australian Impact Growth Equity, helping businesses,

people and the planet have more sustainable futures. This provides a win-win opportunity for

investors to get quality returns and improve positive impact.

Through growth equity, we are mobilising capital and capability where it is needed most, at

the local level. This means that small businesses are freed from the restrictions, pressure

and cashflow implications of debt and get the support they need to grow.

Do you have any tips for aspiring B Corps about the certification process?

Jump in and give it a go.

Don't be disheartened if you don’t achieve certification the first time round, the certification

process is rigorous. Regardless of your outcome, the B Impact Assessment will introduce

comprehensive standards of social and environmental performance that can help you

improve your business.
