Aotearoa New Zealand Manager

Join B Lab in this exciting new leadership role.

The Aotearoa New Zealand B Corp community is growing and we are delivering exciting partnerships to accelerate our impact. Our team, based in Melbourne since 2013, supports our activities in the region and we’re looking for someone to lead the work in Aotearoa NZ.

The role requires strong relationship building and management, and you’ll succeed through leveraging the community of B Corps and other stakeholders who are also driving economic systems change to support our collective vision of an inclusive, equitable, and regenerative economy. Our team in Melbourne will continue to provide the account management, program delivery and support services in all aspects of our work. You’ll work closely with the entire team, and be supported by them.

You are:

  • Passionate about business as a force for good and systems change, and ideally you already are  a champion of the B Corp movement and familiar with its evolution in Aotearoa NZ

  • Equipped with a track record of building solid relationships, ideally in Aotearoa NZ and in the sectors relevant to our work

  • Collaborative and love partnering to achieve mutual outcomes

  • Confident in navigating ambiguity and thrive in a fast paced environment

  • A strong business communicator: comfortable presenting to audiences in person, online and in written form, and able to adapt your working style to different audiences

  • A ‘do-er’ who can work independently, self-motivate, operationalise and prioritise

We’re looking for someone with 7+ years of experience in either business sustainability, social impact, impact management or cross sector partnership. We see an opportunity to better engage with, and learn from, Māori businesses in our work. We understand that there needs to be clear intention, shared value and reciprocity in any work we do with and for Māori businesses. An understanding of this context would be very valuable.

About the role

As the operational lead in Aotearoa, the Country Manager role includes building and holding relationships with a multitude of stakeholders:

  • Community of certified B Corps (48)

  • Key B Corp prospects and influencer companies

  • Funders, collaborators or strategic partners

  • Program partners

  • Adjacent organisations with similar strategic objectives

The role includes delivery of programs and partnerships in Aotearoa (such as the Business For Good program), adapting programs we run across the region and globally to suit.

See the downloadable PDF for more information on the role, and how we’ll define success. You will also find an outline of the way in which you’ll work: within a network of supporting stakeholders, and a governance structure designed to keep us focussed on our mission.

Reporting to the Head of Growth and Impact, you must be comfortable working on multiple levels, sometimes leading, sometimes supporting, and always seeking solutions and impact.
